Of hideous countenance

A reverse frankenstein, coming soon

The Gods have been messy, but their children are far worse…

Long ago, before wars divided worlds and creatures were cast to wander among their own kind, a divine betrayal led to a curse that would follow two souls through time and space. The aftermath of this curse has pressed many to their knees, submitting their souls to an eternal extinction in exchange for the relief of their twin flame's. This pattern continued until six centuries ago, when this ancient curse was meddled with beyond repair, resulting in a prophecy that would change life for all who dwell among the fae and mortals alike. Hekatia, the Queen of the Fae, refused to relinquish her soul, her power, and her love, for anything - and anyone. With a power ever defiant, she re-wrote the gods' curse, biding herself time beyond the veil now separating the fae and mortal realms and laying in wait for the one who would come to break the curse and bring Hekatia back to the mortal realm of Aeloria once more.

When Mirrah succumbs to the draw of faeadrie, the mortals term for fae magic, and participates in trading an innocent soul in exchange for the fae's favor, the prophecy begins to unravel. Living her life under the influence of varying numbing substances, she has accustomed herself to mild-mannered days and delirius nights through which she could ignore the gnawing aches crippling her bones and haunting her dreams. She was content to remain this way, or so she believed, until she caved to the whispers that drew her ever closer to the fae lurking beyond the veil. One mistake... One selfish, pleasuring decision, and her entire life had turned inside-out. Now, she finds the lives of those she loved at risk.

Cursed by the gods, chosen by the fates; will she choose to save the mortal realm or sacrifice the lives of everyone if it saves the person who means the world to her?

This gothic standalone takes place in three parts; the present, in which we meet the monster and his nurse; the past, in which he becomes the monster as we know him and the events leading to the destructive romance of obsession, belief, and immortality; and finally, what cruel salvation means for that of true hideous intent and one of marred morals and trust.

This is a gothic science fiction, reliant on romance and horror - a happy ending is not GUARANTEED, but tears, screaming, and possible nausea may occur in the reading of this novel. Proceed with caution.
